Sacred beginning of our 55th year celebrations. The Khuti Puja marks the ceremonial start of our Durga Puja festivities — invoking divine blessings before construction begins.

Our History & Legacy
55 Years of Service
Ahiritola Sarbojanin Durgotsab Samity, one of the prominent Durga
Puja organisations of North Kolkata, was established in [YEAR OF
FOUNDATION] with the objective of organising a truly sarbojanin
(community-based) celebration of Durga Puja. Rooted in the
historic neighbourhood of Ahiritola—an area known for its cultural
depth, intellectual heritage, and social movements—the Samity
emerged as a symbol of collective participation and public spirit.
The inception of the Puja marked a transition from private
household worship to an inclusive public celebration, allowing
people from all sections of society to participate equally. Since
its inception, the Samity has upheld the ideals of unity,
devotion, discipline, and cultural integrity.

1971
Foundation
